Cannot shrink any more space... When I have lots of space left.

I have a partition set at 237 GB. I have 161 GB of free space left and want to move more out of the partition. But it would not let me move more out. Is this a bug or something?

You can only shrink something as far as you can shrink it, you know? Try defragging and then attempting a shrink again?

It's likely because X amount of data is being taken up, and some of it is here, some of it is there, and the space between probably can't be used. Don't take my word for it right off the bat, but that makes the most sense to me.

Hello Phoenix220, welcome to Seven Forums!

Have a look at Option One of this tutorial at the link below and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Partition Wizard : Use the Bootable CD

First download the Partition Wizard Bootable Disk (PWBD) ISO file to the desktop, be sure to get the PWBD and not the installed version; scroll down to see the download link for the bootable CD ISO file at this link below.

Then use ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD, at no greater than 4x speed with a verify; it was designed for use and works best from a CD rather that a DVD then boot the created CD to make the changes.
