Look at the bright side.

If your system is running at 1/3 of the actual time,
you will have 30 days plus 3 rearms times 3 is 360 days evaluation instead of 120.

sorry, couldn't help that.

I can't believe I am saying this but he has a point...

BUT in all seriousness...I have never quite seen an issue like this and would hope that someone might be able to provide some insight.

Seriously though,

Try uninstalling your virusscanner and/or malware scanner.

There are some that can cause your pc clock to lag.

Please post back if this helped.

Heh, well it's not like I'd ever leave an OS installed for more than 30-40 days regardless :P I'm weird like that. I just did a full format this morning, and I haven't gotten around to re-installing Win7 yet (just XPx64 currently).

Once I've got it back on (tomorow unless I make some last minute plans) I'll tell you all if the issue occurs still. That would help rule out buggy install + anything I added after install.

Actually, on a side note, I'll probably be waiting a few days to put it back on. I have a new CPU cooler on order from NewEgg and I'll be doing another format after I play around with my OC anyways :P I'll probably end up just waiting until I can get my hands on an OEM or Technet copy.

Sacrilegious! I kid, I love NewEgg but check out Jab-Tech for any thermal (fans, heat sinks, accessories, water cooling) needs. NewEgg is getting better but JB's selections are still top notch.

Thanks for the tip. I tend to go to FrozenCPU for most, but I don't intend to really push the OC extremely far so I just went to Newegg for the speedy delivery :P OCing this much beyond 4ghz would be pointless until I get around to spending enough to get some new video cards too, which won't be any time soon. My main concern was just to get it back to dead silent as my tower is about ~2 feet from my TV and I hate hearing the CPU fan while I am watching movies or playing a console, lol.

edit > On a side note, I might just be ordering a few fans from Jab because I'm getting a very nice first impression.

Hi jankare,

Those fixes come after the first. And that is to put another cmos battery on your mainboard. It might be very weak.

Good luck

Sorry, I forgot completely to post back after I found the issue about a month ago. Thanks for posting to remind me kareeem. I tracked it down to a power setting, "HPET". Disabling it fixed all of my issues. My copy of Win7 is the x64 OEM professional release done on MSDNAA. Given the nature of what HPET is, I am guessing this is either a chipset or more likely BIOS issue that needs to be sorted out still.

Slow clock. Please help.
Hi there. My clock always seems to run slowly by like 15 or so seconds. I even went into the registry and set it to update every 4 hours but I still notice it runs slow sometimes. I know it can't be my CMOS battery dying since my system is still fairly new. Any ideas?
