    Ram Confusion

    Hey all,

Im a bit confused now, before i started using my PC alot (I started a couple weeks ago, Mainly used College Pc's) I had My Ram Usage up to 1.9 > = 2.5 Gb... (This is From Resource Manager and Task Manager)

I thought this was all down to Shared memory and all that Jazz and left it,

Now however i checked it today to help some other people out with there problems and my RAM is currently sitting on 892 MB...

Thats more then a 60% Drop from What i was Getting Before......

Anyone Have A Reason it would Have done this?

Oh and im Not complaining Either i just think its Odd that it has suddenly dropped...

Have there been any 7 Updates that Address Ram Usage?

Well the bios (motherboard) determines what memory is detected and used
    How about this
in the start menu search box type
    dxdiag
    and hit enter

On the first tab. What does it say your total memory is there.

Yeah I figured that out when I started to think about it.
It's likely the page file has increased in size if the system is suddenly using less ram.

If you've allowed windows to stay in control of it, it can automatically adjust your pagefile size.
