Windows 7: Win 7 UAC is very slow

Win 7 UAC is very slow

I have had win 7 installed on my SSD for about half a year (very fast ) and now these UAC popups comes up only after 2-7 seconds of blackness.

Could be seen as little, but it's annoying and obviosly something is wrong with the performance. I have scanned for virus and rootkits.

Maybe someone could recommend a stress-test or performance test?

I assembled this computer myself a year ago and I have had some weird problems with it, although I was pretty carefull and double-checked everything. In general it works good.

Hello yodo, welcome to Seven Forums!

Perhaps the use of a shortcut(s) produced using the method outlined in this tutorial at the link below will reduce the need for as many UAC prompts and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

Hi and thankyou for the link, but I see this more as an overall performance issue. I am not bothered by the UAC that much.

The video transition is disk and video driver related, so if it used to be fast and now it isn't you need to check your video driver. If that hasn't changed, that pretty much leaves the disk. If you don't want to work around it, you'll have to investigate disk fragmentation and memory usage on the system to get an idea of why it's slow after time.

Disabling secure desktop should make things snappier. Though it'll make your system less secure, so its your call.
