    Help! Cannot Update!

I have Windows 7 installed on 2 hard drives in raid 0. I cannot Install any updates or else Windows will not boot ... my system reboots and I have to run system restore to fix it. All of my hardware is Vista certified so it should work in 7. I have an E4300 Core 2 Duo Oc'd to 3.0 GHz. I have 2 160 Gig Western Digital HDD's. MSI P6N Platinum Mobo. 2 7600 Gt's in SLI (had to download the driver manually and install). and a Diamond 7.1 surround sound Extreme sound card (also had to manually download and install the driver). I run the latest versions of Avast and Firefox (work without a kink). Any Ideas why Windows Update isnt' working correctly?

Please clarify. How do you know Windows will not boot if you install updates? What is the exact error, or please describe the condition precisely.

Are you applying driver updates with Windows update? Can you boot safe mode?

    Hi Monstereater,

In addition to Antman's comment and information we require to help you solve this issue, first disable your overclocking as 9/10 problems are caused by overclocking

I have ran XP for over a year with no issues so I don't think it's that ... What I meant was that the Windows 7 logo animation freezes and my system reboots (showing bios and all) and then I get the message saying that Windows 7 Encountered an error and it is trying to fix it and the solution it gives me is to do a system restore. I had to manually download the Geforce Driver for my 7600 Gts because it did not want to install. I had to manually download a Vista driver for my sound card. Automatic Updates ran and 9 updates installed with no Issue. So It has to be a single update I guess I could save my system with system restore and if an update works it should load right ... if not just do a system restore. Sorry I didn't mean to double post ... Couldn't figure out how to delete the other one.
