Decreased free space in c: drive.

I have a problem regarding space in c: drive.
I installed win 7 in c: drive for second time because of my pc is very slow. I thought the reason for that is low free space in my c: drive.
After installing win 7 I have installed programs listed below:

Adobe reader 9.0
Google chrome
Intel graphics media accelerator driver
jdk 7
avast free antivirus
MS Office 2007 package

I have allocated 30GB out of 120GB for c: drive. But, now my pc's c: drive's used space is over 18GB. I think there is some problem with configurations of win 7 in my pc.

Please somebody help me to solve this problem.

Hello darshanaprasad, welcome to Seven Forums!

If you only allotted 30GB for Windows 7, that is not enough for long-term use.

Before we make any specific recommendations will you please post a snip/screen-shot of the entire Windows disk management drive map with a full description as to which drive/partition is which, so we can see what you have going on as there may be a fairly simple way to resolve the situation.

In the Windows start menu right click computer and click manage, in the left pane of the "Computer Management" window that opens click disk management and post a maximized snip of that.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1

Hello Darshana,

Welcome to 7 forums.

I feel there is no issue with the used disk space. If you see the system requirements for Windows 7 "Click Here", it is 16GB for 32bit and 20GB of free space for 64bit versions. Hence, after the installation of Windows the used space will be nearly the same as per System requirements. Henceforth, if you install additional software, the used disk space will increase which is normal.

Hence, I feel there is no issue in your computer to worry. Make sure you increase the disk space next time, for Windows installation.

Need to free up space in D drive
I was having some issues while spending time with some friends via the internet (primarily while playing Left 4 Dead 2), and my computer kept on freezing and locking up. I think it might be due to too much space on my computer being taken up, thus making it to where my computer didn't have enough...

Free space on C drive keeps decreasing?
My OS is windows 7 32bit. What I have done to prevent decreasing is: 1. disable system restore on all drives. 2. turn off hybernation 3. move pagefile to other drives. The problem is it is still decreasing, though in a lower rate. Any suggestions? Thanks.
