Just to add my recommendation when looking to reduce the load on the OS by "redundant" services ....
Never disable a service, set it to manual instead
If you set any service to manual it will not be loaded by default and it will not take any resources, however. if something changes in the future and the service is required, (new hardware, or software), it will be started as needed.
NoteThis method is not the most efficient for those services that are required every boot but at least they will work and prevent problems where you forget you've disabled them and something new fails to operate.
This is more important with win7 where the need to re-install the OS regularly, (and thus re-set the default service state), is less needed than with previous Windows Operating Systems
