I've got a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R Rev 1.1 and it takes nearly 25 seconds from a power button press to the point where it hands off to Windows and starts loading Windows. It's about 16 seconds from there to my desktop.

I've modified, and optimized every single thing I can find in the BIOS and it's simply going to take 20-25 seconds from a power button push.

My laptop at work posts in less then 3 seconds, so with my SSD I'm into my desktop pretty fast.

Slap a spinner drive back in for a few days, then you'll apreciate what you have now.

Why? What have you been using that makes your times seem slow? How often are you rebooting where those seconds matter? How does the computer run once it is booted?

This is like complaining about a new car purchase because you don't like how long it takes to play a CD once you insert it. Even tablets and smartphones aren't instant on from a powered off state. Hell, my computer boots faster than my iPhone, and given the times, yours does too.

My point is, of all the things to worry about with a computer, this wouldn't crack the top 1000.
