That sounds like a whole different problem in terms of magnitude compared to mine. I did find my gaming performance was more stable in x64 though. No freezes or crashes at all.
It's unlikely x64 is actually more stable; more plausible is a driver in x86 that was misbehaving.

To me, it seems people "worry" too much about RAM usage on their computer. Vista and 7, both use RAM differently than in the past and it keeps things cached. Therefore, if another app comes along and needs RAM, windows will drop that cached stuff and provide the necessarily ram.

The way I figure, I have 8GB of RAM, over time I'd love to see every single bit of it consumed. This way, I would have the best performance possible. As long as Windows releases it when it's needed for other things, I don't see the issue.
Good luck with getting any performance from your foreground applications and desktop explorer shell. Forget running a game!

Wasted RAM is caching Office, Acrobat Reader and dozens of other cached apps you just don't use.

Why have you tried? If I can start up Crysis on my crappy machine with only 2 GBs of RAM with Windows 7 (and Vista) that has had no services turned off...really...Worrying about RAM usage is a waste of time. Why is it I can have zero problems concerning RAM on my 2 GB system, even with Vista, and not have a single problem? Even when I run my memory intensive applications, multiple running vmware machines, photoshop cs4, games, etc.

Do you think I worry about my RAM usage? Sitting here watching task manager at my idle usage? No not in the slightest. If you have more then 2 GB of RAM, do us a favor...Shut up about RAM usage! Seriously.

That is ridiculous. You do not get a BSOD by going over 85% of RAM usage. If the computer uses more RAM then it has, it will page it out. If you kill the page file...well that is your fault.

85% is where i would reccomend deleting it, I DIDN'T SAY IT WOULD BSOD ON 85% it BSOD's at around 94 - 98%
