I've pretty much given up on sleep on the desktop.
It only takes ONE stupid driver out of 35 to compeltely hose you.
Sleep works great on laptops where the laptop manufacturer has beaten their hardware vendors over the head till they were sleep compliant. And /maybe/ something like an HP desktop will IF you don't install any additional hardware.
But with machines like most of us probably have, self build out of "random" parts. The chance that every single hardware driver will behave through sleep is unfortiunately pretty low.
I too ususaly get one maybe two sleep cycyles before I have to reset. Meaning I always have to close everything anyway lest I lose a file so it really isn't worth it.
Cant wait to get my SSD in in a couple of days and booting will seem like coming out of sleep anyway :)
