"Preparing your desktop..." slow login

    I was having issues with my pc after an update so I decided to perform a clean install of windows. I have installed everything and checked one by one where the issue appeared and seems to be the wireless adapter. I have disabled this from startup and logs in as quick as it should now.

    I had seen some people say this before but I tried it previously and did not seem to change anything however it has worked now.

    Annoyingly, it's back although slightly faster than before. It seemed to happen after windows update but I have no real chance of working out what caused it!

    I am no longer receiving any event viewer errors which is a good thing.

    I found this from a previous thread that refers to Event ID 10:
