Create a System Repair Disc

    There is no installed DVD. All I have are "blank" CD and DVDs, that like most people I format before use. Clearly, in this case, formatting wasn't a good idea. Anyhow, this is solved, thanks.

    When burning a ISO do not format the disk.

    The only problem here was that the DVD had been previously formatted. To create the system repair disc the CD or DVD has to be unformatted (blank).
    My question was a follow on from my (& your) earlier response saying either a CD or DVD is suitable for system repair disk media.

    The thread is sending the message to readers that the system repair should be a CD as opposed to a CD or DVD. Hence my statement in my quoted post.
    Edit: I'm not saying this is a good message as it may only rarely be a problem.
