Windows 7 Freshly Installed, hangs constantly

Computer lags frequently ever since the install. Everything stops for a fraction of a second at a time. Mouse, screen, video, etc. If there is any sound playing, the speakers screech.

When it happens, it happens repeatedly, making the pointer jump all over the place and ruining any video or music.

    Specs:

    Windows 7 Professional 32 bit
Recent install on a mostly empty 143 GB partition

Computer is an Acer laptop with Intel Pentium dual core T4200 and 3 GB RAM.

    Welcome to SevenForums Foru.

Good start on the systgem specs. Now what I need you to do is to use the following procedure to fill out and fluff out your system specs so that when ever anyone clicks on "System Specs" in the bottom right of any post of yours, the specs are immediately available.
    Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (3rd item in the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec
    (left-hand column)

To gather info, use SIW or Speccy or System Info

Add the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
    “system manufacturer” block, for example,
    Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
    MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on the SAVE CHANGES button.
