    Hardware ram usage = 2310mb


    My hardware ram usage is 2310mb?! im pretty sure this isn't right, ive asked my friends how much there's is and all of theres is around 250mb
    Im using a HP pavillion dv6-3130us laptop with 4gb of ram and a AMD n640 II processor (2.9Ghz dual core)

    Hardware reserved is generally being used by the graphics chip in laptops. You can reduce the amount in the bios on most occasions.

    There is a tweak that might also help windows to take advantage of more of your memory. It involves messing with the bootmgr though and I'm going to have to do a little reading before I suggest that method on a laptop as the hardware reserve is different with them than a desktop.

    I cant find any memory options in my bios? and i have a graphics card (i think) but its only small, its either 128mb of dedicaed memory or 256mb im cant remember which it was

    Has HP been able to run their diagnostics and tell you what hardware in the system is making such a large memory reservation as of yet?

    ive ran every test and diagnostic that i know how to and they find no problems! i havent contacted hp yet case there was a simple way i could do it, but it looks like ill have to
