slowed down boot up

OK, i was in Cali for about 4 days so i left my pic on to remote access it from my iPhone (bf3 early beta was about to come out so i wanted to download it before i got back) any ways, when i came back i turned it off for the first time since i left and back on. since them my PC has been taking a lot longer to boot up. it use to take about 2 min, now it takes about 3/4. iv done virus scans with avast, did malwarebytes, i even did a system restore to before i left. nothing came up, so i don't know whats going on. i also randomly had my pc go into sleep mode wile i was on the internet. i dont have sleep mod even set up

I would check what is starting with Windows. Most apps want to add themselves to the Windows Startup, and this is not necessary. Use an app call What's In Startup (Google search the name) from Nirsoft software. Very nice little program. Delete all apps you really don't need to start and see how much faster things are.

These solutions from Microsoft may do the trick, they worked for me.

Step 1: Click Start and type cmd in the search field. Right-click cmd under the Programs list and choose Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.

Type powercfg /RestoreDefaultPolicies then press Enter to run the command.

Type Exit then press Enter again to close the Command Shell.

Step 2: Next, click Start again and navigate to Control Panel>System & Security>Action Center>Troubleshooting.

In the Troubleshooting window, under System & Security, click Check for Performance Issues then follow the Wizard's instructions for disabling Startup applications.

Step 3: Download the free edition of SuperAntiSpyware and carry out a virus scan. Remove any viruses or Adware and restart your computer then check the status of the issues found.

When you've finished, uninstall SuperAntiSpyware in Uninstall a Program and any non-Microsoft anti-virus software you may be using. To remove the third-party anti-virus applications, click Start then click Run and type appwiz, and then press Enter.

In the list of installed programs, uninstall any anti-virus application other than Microsoft Security Essentials.

You'll probably find it better to create a system restore point before you start then restart your computer when you've finished.

i kinda just jumped right to Control Panel>System & Security>Action Center>Troubleshooting. and it gave me the problem of having to many things on start up, i turned off my desktop gadgets, and somehoe adobe bridge was selected to run on start up, i dont even use bridge. but here are some other things that i have running on start up but i donnt want to turn off wrong things and mess up my pc lol if you can tell me somethings i might be able to turn off

I'd be inclined to disable everything except Microsoft Windows Operating System.

If you get problems afterwards you can always re-enable items one at a time.

ok, ill check that also. but whats weird is that i didnt have this problem befor i went on vacation, i left my pc on so i could access it from my iphone and i didnt do anything out of the norm, and now its got this slow boot up. but ill check both thos options and report back

iv looked into my boot times with event viewer and on 9-18 (before i went to cali) i had about a 2 min boot up. and on 10-2 i have a 4 min boot up. iv turned off some start up programs but it doesn't look to help any, could it be a hardware problem ? and as i said in the post above im not hearing my regular 1 post beep.
