How to increase USB polling rate?

I was able to increase polling rate for my USB mouse very easily (but just downloading and running a program) in Windows XP, but from what I've read on the net, changing the USB polling rate for a mouse in Windows 7 is much more involved. Does anyone have any info on how to go about doing this?

I've attached two files that I used with my old mouse on Vista x64. They should still work on Windows 7 x64, too, though I haven't tried it as my Logitech G5 can increase the polling rate within its software.

Run the setup.exe for hidusbf and follow the instructions in the readme file that comes with it. Once you have increased that, run mouserate and move your mouse around in the program and it'll tell you your USB polling rate so you can check it has properly been increased.

Edit: If it doesn't work in Windows 7 x64, you might have to disable signed driver enforcing.

I found a similar package elsewhere and couldn't get it to work. If I have an Intel processor and Windows 7, which HIDUSBF.SYS should I sign?
