Lookin for a good memory recoverer and optimizer

Can anybody recommend a good memory recovery program? I realize that memory recovery can be a good thing, especially after using a program or programs with memory leaks. However, Ive always noticed that mem recover progs seem to leave the system either laggy or unstable, and almost never seem to recover a whole lot of memory. Ive tried em in almost every previous version of Win, but not yet in Win7. If anyone knows of a great alternative, Im all ears!

Umm yeah...stop using those programs. They do nothing useful.

They do more bad things then they help so I would not use those programs. Waste of time and sometimes money.

I don't recommend the use of these types of program either. Windows generally manages the available memory quite effectively on its own, and any memory leaks are usually caused by programs not allowing correct memory management to take place. The correct thing to do here, instead of looking for memory optimizers (which only page out sections of the RAM to the disk-based Virtual Memory (Swap File), usually on a non-optimized algorithm leading to laggy behaviour when the system has to page back into RAM data that shouldn't have been paged out), is to check the program manufacturer's website for an update to resolve the issue(s).
