I want to use power plan unplugged all the time

    Hi,

I use the Power saver plan to conserve battery and when I unplugg the ac cord the fans power down and my pc is wonderfully quiet.

How do I activate this even though I´m plugged in? I tried to change advanced powersettings and using the same settings wether plugged in or not?!

    Can someone help with this?

    Regards
    Adam

    Welcome to SevenForums!

You can not modify this setting by tweaking windows, this is the reaction of the laptop itself which was put together in the factory and windows can not give you a control over everything like it does with the existing options.
I am sorry to tell you.

    Keep it up

Hello Adam, and welcome to Seven Forums.

In your advanced power plan options, this setting would be under Processor power management -> System cooling policy. You have two settings, one for "Active" cooling and one for "Passive" cooling. Passive is more quite since it limits the fans from running as much, but it doesn't keep the system as cool as "Active".

    Hope this helps,

    Hey guys,

thanks for your effort but I´ve already set the the system cooling policy to passive to no avail.

But if you have anymore ideas keep 'em coming :)
