Yesterday I installed RC1 of Windows 7 on my HP 6910p.

Afetr install I immediately noticed that the notebook makes much more fan noise then under Windows XP.
The fan seems to be running constantly and whenever I seem to do something a bit graphical it goes at full speed.

Are there any other (HP 6910p) users that have the same experience?
Is there something I can do / tweak to make my notebook quite again.

I have already disabled the superfetch however this only reduces the HDD activity.
Following is useful in controlling fan speed:
SpeedFan SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer
monitors voltages, fan speeds and temperatures, shows hard disk temperatures, shows cpu temperatures, supports SCSI, can change fan speeds

    HP 6910p running hot

I've had a business 6910p for about 2 years now. I have the 2.2ghz dual core. I think it's compact design does not really provide the best cooling situation for a core over 2ghz. It WILL keep cool, even under hard CPU duress. but that fan will blast on high to do it. I don't think there will be anything you can do under Windows 7. The OS is too graphic intensive thus while I feel the computer can handle running it (as long as you have max RAM, it will still want to heat up on you and that fan will run on high to keep it cool. Example - I was using my 6910p to encode video and the CPUs were running at over 90% to do this task. I was monitoring the temps of the CPUs with a freeware program called CoreTemp. Through the operation it was running at about 76C. that's pretty warm but it was ok. :)
