i got a problem with my PlugPlay service in Windows 7 Ultimate x86, when there has passed about 12hours more or less somethings it goes crazy like this:

it's a problem i get after about a little week or something from reinstalling Windows 7, and i haven't had this issue or what you will call it in the beta and rc versions of Windows 7 it came in January 2010 and i haven't changed any hardware sinces that, i only got a new GFX about 14days ago so it can't be that sines i had it sines January >:
i hope there is a way to fix this problem, because i really like Windows 7 a lot, and this is the only error i got with it and it's not funny when you like to have your system online 24-7.
Hey, I had the same problem on my brand new notebook running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. One day, without changing anything (in fact, I had been working on a desktop when this happened to my notebook) I discovered that the notebook was hammering the hard drive. Task manager reported svchost using 100% of a dual core CPU. Further digging revealed that three things were running on svchost...power, plugplay and something else (dcom something). So I assigned power and dcom whatever to their own process. After reboot, I had svchost (with PID for plugplay and nothing else) using 100% CPU. Since it was plugplay, I thought maybe I had a driver issue. So I went to Device Manager and found that Device Manager was BLANK***. Quick online research revealed that Device Manager is programmed to shut itself off (more or less) if there is a problem with a device driver causing plugplay to increase CPU usage. So I rebooted to safe mode and found device manager was blank. So I tried system restore, planning to roll back a day or two...but found that there were NO system restore points (?!?). Luckily, I had been using Acronis True Image to image C: once a month. I had to boot the Acronis rescue CD and re-image the hard drive to fix this problem.
***Now, what I want to know is, what IDIOT at Microsoft decided that if there was a possible problem with a device driver, that disabling Device Manager might be a GOOD idea? I really want an answer to that question. I'm not just tossing it out to vent frustration. I want to know, what line of thinking went into that WRONG decision?
What USB devices have you used? Also what software have you installed? Some like Zune add Plug n' Play drivers.

On the day this happened...I was performing some routine maintenance on a desktop computer, preparing it to triple-boot three operating systems. As most know, installing multiple operating systems can be a very time-consuming task. On the table behind me, I had my new notebook running so (in the long pauses waiting for the desktop to catch up to me) I could check e-mail, browse the web, etc. I wasn't making any changes to the notebook and I didn't plug any USB or any other devices into the notebook. I just turned around after working on the desktop for about 15 minutes or so to find my notebook's CPU usage was maxed. Prior to this, the last software I installed on the notebook was a new Internet security suite (Comodo) installed about a week ago.
And OK, Device Manager didn't turn itself off, technically. It's just that when I launched device manager, I was faced with a blank screen. Where the devices would normally be listed, there was WHITE SPACE. From google, I found out that this is normal behavior for Windows...Microsoft coders make device manager blank if there is a problem with plugplay. WHY??????????
Device manager is blank because your MMC subsystem is damaged or there are missing MMC components.
It sounds like your installation is damaged for some reason, and i would suggest verifying the installation media before anything else.
