Control Panel Does Not Show "Indexing Options"

Did a search for "Indexing service" and was shown one result to see what was being indexed. After clicking the link, nothing happened. Tried it again, same result. Also, "Indexing Options" is not listed under control panel.
What's the problem here ??? Would appreciate HELP !!!!!!!!!!

    Hello Bej,

Double check in Windows Features to make sure that you have Windows Search checked. If you turn it off, this would remove Indexing Options in the Control Panel.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

It does and you are right on. "Windows Search" was unchecked in "Windows Features."
    1. Even though "Indexing" is checked when I right click C:\ (Properties)are files being indexed with "Windows Search being unchecked ?
    2. Should I turn on "Windows Search" in "Features" ? I don't seem to have any problem with "Searching" per se.

Appreciate your time and trouble !!!!!!!

Yes, you would need to check "Windows Search", click on OK, and restart the computer to apply and have "Indexing Options" back in the Control Panel. Windows Search is for being able to do a index search. If turned off, you will still be able to do a slower non-indexed search though. :)
