How to decide which startup items are necessary (screenshots)

I would like to configure the programs on my computer to improve startup performance. I need help determining which programs I need or dont need running upon startup?

So I shouldn't have any issues or I shouldn't run into any problems if I do that? No safe mode or anything like that?
