    "ccsvchost.exe" indicates a Symantec/Norton anti-virus program.

In Task Manger, there should only be two instances of ccsvchost.exe, one for SYSTEM and one for "username".

Visit the forum of Norton users at Norton Community - Norton Community . There could be many causes, as evidenced by the many threads posted there about it. A high probability is the Norton program is scanning the large drive. Or if the Optimizer is not turned off, then it will run the defragmentation module.
