New Computer Getting Slower By The Day

    Hi,
I have a relatively new computer that just seems to be slowing down immensely...
Even to the point where if im playing a song itll sort of chop up..
I ran a complete virus scan and nothing seems to be wrong, however id like to know what i should do in order to properly maintain/fix my system. Thanks.
    BTW Here are my specs

    RAM: 12 GB
    Processor: i7 930 @ 2.80 Ghz
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium x64
    Model: Dell Studio XPS 9100

Maybe many things... Let's try with some...

How many processes do you have in StartUp tab(run->msconfig->Startup) and how many processes you have in Task Manager ? We need print of that.
Where you notice that slowing down ?
What antivirus/anti-spyware you are using ?

    Common problem.

Type msconfig in the start search box.

Choose msconfig from the list that pops up.

Go to the startup tab in msconfig. Uncheck everything except anti-virus.

Save and restart. Is it still "slow"?

Go to the services tab of msconfig. Choose "hide all Microsoft services".

The remaining services shown aren't need to run Windows. Do you need all of them to be running?

I have 107 Task Manager processes and how should i count the Msconfig processes? with without ms services?
using avast, i primarily notice when im listening to music, ill watch the cpu usage and itll jump to like 90 for a second then back to like 30 and during that time the song gets all chopped up

First will be good if you don't know what are you doing, you're not sure, post a screenshot here of processes list in Task Manager and StartUp tab in msconfig.
(also screenshot from services in msconfig, but with checked "Hide all Microsoft Services"

In first look I can say that you have a lot of services that are running , but I can't see them all. Will be good to scroll down, and to post again screenshot(s) from others...
Processes, I can see also that you got a lot of processes, so as I said above sort them by Memory(clicking on Memory tab) and also scroll down and post more screenshots from other processes.
Startup, also a lot of unneeded programs there...
