According to this thread, there is no RAID for that laptop: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Noteboo...ID/td-p/201754

hmm.. I did some more research and i realized HP does not support Hardware RAID but it has a built in software Raid. Unfortunately, because of my lack of knowledge on setting up RAID.. im hopeless in either case.. Maybe if someone has time they can step me through setup. :)

    Thanks otherwise

Why do you want to use RAID? What do you hope to gain over doing image backups?

Unlikely to make any difference from what I've read in various places, including some posts here. You would get a significant, noticeable performance increase by moving to 7200RPM drives od even 10,000RPM if they are available for laptops.

The amount of incorrect info I read on this forum is high. Raid 0 specifically will double your read and write of a single hard drive or SSD . Unfortunately Windows 7 does not support this for the boot drive while Mac os and linux does. So you cannot use raid 0 on the laptop since it does not have hardware raid. Also known a gain raid. The option would be in the bios.
