    Freeze up

When I try to update any software I get the usual message asking permission to make changes to my computer. I click yes & the computer freezes. I get the same result when trying to modify user acct. control settings.

    daviddo,
My mind reading abilities are a tad slow today.
We truly need far more clues about your problems.

    Examples...

*Please fill in your System Specs so that we have some idea about your System there.
    See snip below.

    * Have you a System Restore Point PRIOR to the problem presenting that you could roll back to?

*How long have you had this problem for?

    *Have you SP1 installed?

    * What Anti Virus Program came preinstalled on your computer?
How did you get rid of it?

    * Please list ALL the Security Programs currently used.

    * Have you checked in Event Viewer?
    Type eventvwr in search.
Go to the Windows Logs > Application / System > in the left hand column.
Note anything in red that relates to the last " freeze".
Please record the event ID,Source Code and Google for more information.
