The wmiprvse.exe file is otherwise known as Windows Management Instrumentation. It is a Microsoft Windows-based component that provides control and information about management in an enterprise environment. Did you do a virus scan ?
I don't know if this works on windows 7 but try this: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...s.aspx?id=1157

PS: do you have SP1 installed ?
