computer RANDOM freeze during games and video

    hey guys

    strange behavior on a laptop

    acer
    sandy bridge 2410m i5
    4gb ddr3 1333 dual
    video nvidia gt 540m
    hdd 640gb/5400rpm
win7 32/64 (not at the same time)

freezing randomly in games....from 30-40-50 FPS drops to 0(zero) on crysis2, flatout ultimate carnage, f1 2010
    bad fps in fifa09...about 20-25fps

freezing in video playback in bsplayer AND vlc

i dont understand what the problem is

    search index is disabled
    superfech only boot mode
defragger setup to defrag once a week only the boot partition
    AV is microsoft essentials

    virus theory is excluded
    latest nvidia drivers
    latest realtek drivers
    latest mobo drv
latest intel (ahci, video, hdmi, and so on..)
    dx updated
    3dmark06 score over 8000 at 1024x768

the problem is ...i know this laptop can do better because i have other 2 laptops with worse configuration that work better than this one

t6600-4gb ddr3-gts160m-500gb/7200rpm ...this one should be as good as the i5 one as a whole...about same 3dmark score....but this one works flawless and the i5 has these problems

phenom p820-2gb ddr3(single channel)-ati hd4270-250gb/5400rpm...this one cant work too well on games but it has NO problems during video playback

windows configuration its about the same...same apps installed on all...same apps start on startup...everything is preety much the same...

if u have any tips or suggestions id be happy to hear ...

    cheers

Freezing isnt usually caused by hardware.
Freezes such as this are often caused by conflicts in software, too little ram, and many other things.

    Several things you can try

1-Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files
(type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>SFC /SCANNOW)

    Let us know the results

2-Check event viewer (type eventvwr in search). go to the windows log>application tab. Look for critical errors (they have red in the left hand column) that say app hang, app crash, or anything related to the problem.

When you find them note the event ID and source codes and tell us hat they are.

3-Boot into safe mode (with networking).
Does it still do it then? If not it is probably a software conflict.

4-Go into device manager (type device manager in search).
Are there any "unknown drivers" with yellow question marks on them?

Also have you monitored the CPU and GPU temps? What are they before the freeze?

    temps are more than ok
    cpu - 80c max...usually around 55 when browsing...60 in video
    gpu - 85c max ...40 idle

the new thing is...started random freeze on youtube and sopcast plugin

    checkdisk was fine...no errors found
device manager is fine...no unknown devides
event viewer...nothing that could help me...no critical errors...few red errors about bsplayer(it has the bad habbit to stop working if paused-resume...one out of 5)...2 errors about net framework 2.0 failed to start
and ALOT of errors about MSE ...uninstalled it and try without any AV and see how this works out

PS: the thing is ...its my brothers laptop and i gotta enter remotely on it...and wait few days for him to check it out
when its time....will deffenitely safe mode with networking...but im not preety sure i can access it
