Do Nothing! Simple yes? Good. Stop worrying about memory until you actually have performance issues that can be tracked back to memory usage.

Get a laptop cooling pad with fans in it or stop playing that game on your laptop. Thats not meant to be a smart alec remark its just that laptops aren't as efficient at keeping cool as a desktop PC is. Also, as the saying goes, unused RAM is wasted RAM. Windows 7 makes better and more efficient use of your memory so don't sweat it until you run out or things slow to a crawl.

That has nothing to do with memory usage! GTA IV is an intensive game, it is always going to make your computer heat up. Nothing you can do concerning Windows is going to stop that.

I am always a bit surprised that this is still asked on a Windows 7 forum. The reason I say this is...what you see with memory usage is one of the primary reasons people use Windows 7 and get the best performance from it. Windows 7 caches your most frequently used programs, so they start up faster. As someone on another forum once said...if you don't want to use your omputer's memory, remove it and put it on your desk. That memory will be freed up in the event you run something intensive, like a game.

As for the heat, that is why, regardless of what marketing departments tell you, laptops aren't really meant for gaming. Towers are designed to handle hot components and allow for much better overall cooling. If you can get an intensive game to run on a laptop, great, but don't be surprised if the laptop heats up quite a bit.

I had GTA4 for about a week, it crucifies whatever system you're playing on. It was hastily and sloppily ported to the PC. Even my system strains from trying to play it. I can't imagine playing it on a laptop.
