    Windows Aero and games performance


    hi all,
    if i turn off all Aero features, will i get a performance increase in 3D games? (i play gta IV, ut3, borderlands, assassin's creed II...)

    i dont think you will get a noticeable performance increase except maybe if you play in windowed mode.

    There are better methods for getting improved performance in games. I increased my performance by 15% just by following the Optimize Windows 7 tutorial.

    You would see a better boost in the games department by adding RAM, since your video card looks adequate. The other thing you can try is an SSD, once you start running off of an SSD, your life will change forever, lol.
