Windows explorer and interface very slow

Using windows explorer or start menu generally is very laggy.

I have installed cubicexplorer as a replacement for windows explorer and it is 100x more responsive(instant).

Windows explorer wasn't always like this. If I try to find a program to run in the start menu it takes about 10-15 seconds which I normally would do in 2-4 seconds.

    Hello stretto. Welcome to Sevenforums

I am not entirely sure what your question is, as you seem to have installed cubicexplorer to replace windows explorer and it sounds like it is working for you.

Note that whenever you install and use customizations outside of the windows environment, and/or if you have a weaker or slower computer, windows may not respond as quickly or correctly as it should.

My guess is you are attempting to get windows back to normal. But using customizations can and in some cases does hinder performance. I would suggest putting your computer back to normal, and then I can attempt to help you get it up to speed.

Slow Deletes due to 3rd Party Back-up SW

I experienced very slow response attempting to delete files - 5 or 10 minutes after right clicking and selecting delete. I had resorted to always using my wipe software instead.

After months of aggravation, I tried deleting my 3rd party back-up program (Seagate Replica). Windows Explorer now runs fine.
