event id 7036 flood

It would be interesting to know if another firewall will have a problem with the Browser service. Maybe the Browser was causing some type of traffic that would trigger the firewall's response (such as shutting it down).

does the free Avast need the Windows firewall to be running?

Just installed Avast, it seems it either does not have a firewall, or it fails to report to Windows security center that it does.

I purchased the Avast Internet Security Suite, installed and configured it, then disabled the Windows firewall. The flood of 7036's has stopped.

The McAfee I was using required the Windows firewall. The windows firewall is the problem, but I don't understand why it only affected 1 out of my 4 pc's. I have left McAfee on the other 3 for now, but will likely change them to Avast also once I'm convinced its as good as the members here, and the reviews claim.
