I have a silly question - re : sfc and system restore

Yesterday I did a sfc and it found and repaired corrupt files.

If I am to do a system restore to 5 days ago, will the corrupt files that had been repaired return ?

Editing ... Reason of the question is that : I have Windows Mail installed in my Win 7 about 2 weeks ago. It was working until today. I clicked on the shortcut, clicked Open... nothing.

I did a system restore to a few days ago, and WM is back in action.

I wonder if the " corrupt files " which sfc found are related to WM installation.
I prefer not to run sfc in order to find out. Hence my question.

I don't think that is a silly question at all.

System Restore restores the registry, but it doesn't give you a new Windows installation.

I'm tempted to say yes, the corrupted files will return--if they existed when you made the restore point 5 days ago, but I'd be interested to hear the fine points and nuances of this myself.

    Update ......
After I had WM back in action ( my default is WLM, by the way ), I went ahead and did a sfc.
Sfc reports corrupt files found and successfully repaired them. Same as last time I did sfc.

And yes, WM does not respond anymore.
So, it has to be related to the " corrupt files " that sfc repaired.

    Advice needed .....
Should I do system restore again to revive WM, or say goodbye to WM ?
I don't have to have WM.

I am trying to forget about my experience with Windows Mail. Why would you even consider keeping it around if, as you say, you don't have to have it???

I keep WM solely because there are times people ask questions about WM in the other Vista forums, I use it to double-check if I've given correct procedures to the OPs.

WM and WLM 2011 have very different procedures to access various options.

This is my " speculation " as to why my WM stops working once sfc has repaired the " corrupt files ".

In installing the WM, I had to replace the existing mose.dll from the Windows Mail folder with a 64-bit mose.dll that I had downloaded from the tutorial ( Windows Mail )

sfc , upon repairing, must had replaced my new 64-bit mose.dll with the original one. That renders WM unresponsive afterwards.

This speculation may sound silly, but answers from experts in Mail or Programs would be appreciated.
