I just tested it in Sleep and Hibernate, both in Hybrid and not, with an unsaved Word Document, Notepad and Seven Forums post left open on the desktop. It was incorrect of me to say that these are "saved" during Sleep or Hibernation, and I only meant it in the sense that they are still there on the desktop exactly as I left them. But the files have not been Saved until I then go on to Save them nor did I really expect them to be.

Thank you for pointing out how I have been incorrectly describing this by loosely using the word saved.

Since Hybrid sleep is saving writing the work both to the RAM and HD to guard against power loss to RAM, I wonder why anyone would not use it. Hiberfile size?

    • hiberfil.sys file size and the common recommendations to disable hibernate to save space. (this is very valid if space is an issue)
    • not understanding what hybrid does.
    • the difficulty in getting sleep and/or hibernation to work in some cases.

I use hybrid on all my W7 OS's, but some of them have been a challenge to get working...

I've been using it a long time, and it is very reliable...
