Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:

    Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
    Expand Custom Views
    Click Administrative Events
    Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
    Upload the .zip file here.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

The quickest way to get your system back to anything like it used to be is a clean re-install.

You probably don't want to do that, so you might want to read through this tutorial, which discusses how to optimize Windows in order to improve its performance.

    Optimize Windows 7

Many things can cause your computer to slow down. A fragmented hard drive, a hard drive with very little free space, too many programs that you never use, viruses and root kits all play a part.

By your own admission, you download a lot of stuff so you may want to invest in another hard drive and keep your downloaded stuff away from the system drive.

In addition try following these steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware - Windows 7 Forums. Win7 can be severely hampered by all the preinstalled bloatware on today's consumer PC.

In particular get the Clean Boot given in the first steps so you can see if a program is interfering.

If this doesn't help then work through these standard troubleshooting steps leading up to possible Repair Install or the greatly superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to which SeaVixen refers.

You have countless errors which state to run Disk Check on all partitions. You would have already done this if you'd followed my self-help troubleshooting steps to study repeat errors.

If a lot of problems are found run the HD maker's HD Diagnostic extended CD scan. You can determine the HD by looking at it, or googling the model number given in Device Manager under Disk drives.

Back up your files and a Win7 backup image first.
