    Can't change pagefile size

When I try to change the pagefile on Drive C to 400 megs and reboot, it remains at over 6 gigs even though the Virtual settings show it at 400 megs. See Attachments.

Using Win7 Ultimate x64 on Core i7 with 6 mb ram.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Many thanks,

You running VM? if so you would get more response in the virtualization section. Just a thought

Odd. So, force it. Set to no page file, boot. Check it. If present, delete. Reset to 400MB.

After setting the page file to null and booting - check the drive for the presence of pagefile.sys. If exist, delete. Report.

I cannot duplicate the reported condition.

    Ken,

No, I am not running Virtualization.

Confused by the "Virtual settings show it at 400 megs". I take it you are still having the problem? At some point if it is important enough to you you may have to consider more drastic options (clean re-install).

    Antman,

    Thanks for helping.

Did do, but the pagefile.sys still remains. When I try to delete it, I get the following error message.

"The file 'pagefile.sys' is to large for the destination file system."

    Any other suggestions?

I will live with it rather than doing a clean install. There must be a solution. I am running RTM, not RC.

    Antman,

What do I examine? I could not see any reference to the pagefile.sys in my Group Policy,

    Many thanks,
