New PC Build reboots while running WEI
Hi Everyone,
Long time reader, first time poster.
Just built a new PC, and having a pretty major issue with it.
When I run the WEI the PC reboots just after it finishes the Tuning Windows Media decoding test, I see the name of the next test change but do not have time to actually read it. Once logged back in, the only issue mentioned in the Event Viewer is a critical kernel power error and an unexpected shutdown error. I have tried the following without success:
Pulled all but one stick of ram
Tried a different video card (one that does not need as much power)
Installed a new heatsink/fan
only have the vid card, one stick of ram, 1 HDD, and DVDRW plugged in
Specs are the following:
Asus P8P67 LE
Intel i5 2500K 3.3GHz
16GB Corsair Vengeance Ram
2TB Western Digital Drive
Asus nVidia GTX 550 Ti
Antec TruPower 750W
Also this issue occurs when streaming music from another PC...usually in the middle of the first song (so about 2-3mins)
Thanks for listening...
EDIT: The test it crashes on is the Testing Windows Media Encoding Performance, as soon as the title comes up it reboots
EDIT2: Looks like the last file WEI tries to access before rebooting is winsat.prx
