After a "Wake-up failure", how does the laptop get "re-booted" and running Windows-7?

Do you get any error message(s) booting up, and/or after Windows is up and running?

My guess is you are getting a BSOD on a sleep/wake-up.

To determine if you are getting a BSOD (you have a MEMORY.DMP or MINIDUMP file) follow the instructions at
    https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

If you are getting a BSOD, follow the "BSOD - Posting Instructions" for further help.

Do you have a C:\Windows\Memory.dmp file
or a file in the C:\Windows\Minidump\ folder ?

What i think is happening is the PC sleeps, crashes TRYING to wake-up, and shuts down.
When you re-boot it gives you the "shut down error message" you see.

For further help with this you need to follow the "BSOD - Posting Instructions" at
    https://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

    Note this in the instructions:
