Laptop slowing down after a while

My school laptop is running damn slow and i cant format it and such things since the laptop got programs such as photoshop. The laptop runs windows 7 pro with 2gigs of ram and got a i5 2.4 ghz (HP Elitebook 8540p). I dont know whats wrong with the laptop and i cant even tab the game since the laptop gonna lag and i wont be able to open browsers and stuff. It takes ages for stuff to load folders webb browsers etc. Even the game starts to lagg after 10-15mins. And the laptop isnt overheating either

Could someone give me some tips?
If u need more info just tellme

    Hi,

Check the performance in safe mode/ Safe mode with networking. Check if the antivirus software has detected any virus/ malware/ spyware, if yes proceed with the Antivirus/Spyware/Malware troubleshooting.

Try running the below mentioned troubleshooters which could fix the problem:
If the issue still persists, then try creating a New User account and check if the symptom appears in the New User account or not.

    Hi,

Try running Hard Drive diagnostics on your computer and let me know the status. If there are no error codes, you can try restroing your system back to the factory settings and then check the performance of the system. Ensure backing up your data before reinstalling Operating system.
