i think that should be enough!
i have tried auslogics defrag meanwhile! when i set this defrag to run in idle in 1 minute, it works!

but auslogics defrag did not use the prefetch and superfetch features

is an entry from the moment i have startet it manual.

regards
Ingo
Is it also scheduled in "task scheduler" or has it its own definition of idle?

One possibility is you have "large" files on your HD that do not get defragmented by Windows defrag.

The Windows 7 defragmentation tool skips files larger than 64MB, to avoid useless IO activities.

Not quite true
"the defragmentation algorithm was changed (from Windows XP) to ignore pieces of a file that are larger than 64MB."

Going back.
I don't know what the OP is doing,
but contig can be run manually, automatically, scheduled or howerver,
Contig is a program. Programs can be scheduled to run.

Defrag.exe is a program which can be scheduled to run.

Defrag.exe can be run manually.

I've defragged in all possible ways. My preference is to run contig manually, which will defrag large file pieces.

However, the defrag.exe is quite adequate.
