Thanks Vince. I'm still in the camp of CCleaner has never hosed a system. There are always combinations of things done that lead to the odd problems. I thought I had seen a report once, but in questioning the poster it came out that he had run several cleaning/optimizing software in a row before rebooting. CCleaner was just the last in a string run. In fact, it was finally admitted that CCleaner just found a missing reference (no doubt just removed by another program).
I'm still personally going to only recommend CCleaner, and warn against registry cleaners. Even if it was a "do as I say, not as I do" thing. It's like an ad for a medication on tv..."possible side effects can happen, including headaches, disorientation, suicidal thoughts, and in rare cases, death."
