weak color blue - very hard to read on desk top.

I find that when resting the arrow on the task bar icons it is very hard for these old eyes to read.
Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciiated.
This is also true on eveything else when shown on the monitor.
    thank you.

    1. The taskbar problem can be solved if you change the glass colors from here: Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization\Window Color and Appearance

Take the dark grey and set it to maximum intensity. Then you get best contrast.

    2. For everything else on the monitor, I suggest you increase the DPI here: Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display. Depending on your screensize you can go with 125% for a 15" screeen and 150% for a 22" screen. For other sizes you have to experiment.

Note: a new DPI setting will only work after a reboot.

    3. Some additional helps are the magnifier that you find in All Programs > Accesories > Ease of access. If you place a shortcut of the magnifier into the taskbar, then it is readily available when needed. If you want to stop it, press WIN+ESC.

Another more brutal option is to set the whole system to a high contrast theme in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization. But that requires a lot of fine tuning and is very finagle.
