    windows 7 extra slow

hello, i recently bought two identical hard drives, 2.0tb sata3 caviar greens. i performd a fresh w7 install on one of them, and its extremely slow ever since.

ive installed drivers, done updates, still. everything goes "not responding" every time i try to do something.

    halp?

First thing I'd do is make sure you don't have a defective hard drive. You can run the WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows to check for hard drive problems.

WD Support / Downloads / SATA & SAS / WD Caviar Green / GP

If the hard drive checks OK I'd try going through the troubleshooting steps prepared by one of our Forum experts.

Make sure you have the latest BIOS update to handle larger HD's.

Did you follow these basic principles to get a perfect Clean Reinstall which are the same for retail?
