    chkdsk can not run.....?


    i tried to run chkdsk from Command Line,
    and
    restarted this netbook,
    and
    same message showed.
    how do u run this?

    Normally when you press the Y key there at the command prompt the tool is then scheduled for the next startup. It runs before Windows starts to load as an independent drive checking tool not while booted in Windows.

    The "chkdsk /r" with repair switch is the most commonly entered command used at the command line. You can also schedule it to run by right clicking on a particular drive's icon in Windows Explorer to bring up the properties screen>Tools tab and simply click on the Check Now button under error checking. Then it will run after you restart the system or when turning it on again if you shut down when first passing the post tests.

I need to run chkdsk /F on my system (C) drive, and thus far I've been thwarted. I've tried two ways: In windows explorer, right click drive C and select properties > tools > Error checking. A window pops up and I keep the default (Automatically fix file system errors) checked. When I click Start...
AHCI disk. Running chkdsk from Properties Tools with no autofix says there are errors. Dismount the drive and reboot. Chkdsk reports no errors found. Properties Tools Chkdsk still syas there are errors. Auslogics Defrag also says there are errors.
