Check your RAM sticks are all plugged in correctly. Take them out, clean the slts with compressed air (any cleaner of your choice) and plug in the RAM sticks back one at a time. Wiggle the sticks a bit, if they wobble alot, then you'll have to get a replacement.
Put in one stick, boot up computer to check computer has recognized that stick, then put in the second one, boot up computer and check if its been recognized and so on untill all sticks are securely in.

Try and switch the slots of the RAM sticks

Also, Check the BUS speeds of the ram sticks. how many MHz are they running at?

Less than 4.0 GB RAM usable?
It's funny, because ALL of my RAM was usable some time ago. (I have no idea how long ago this was, but it was on the same OS) I am using Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. I know about the whole 32-bit issue where some say you can't use much more than 3GB. Well, I WAS. I wouldn't be writing this...

RAM 6.0 GB (1.95 GB Usable) WTF?!
What's this all about? Last time I checked system properties it said 5.5 GB usable. Now, today I noticed that my sidebar said that my memory is 40% in use and there's only 1.5 GB available. What's going on here? I was thinking it could be my video card taking the memory, but I didn't change any...
