    im using an hp 635 laptop im not sure what the motherboard model is, where do i get that information

    but my pc is not the desktop hp pavalion a635w it is an hp 635 notebook pc instead

    It is eligable up to 8GB.

    Obviously the slots are fine otherwise it would only register 1GB ram stick.
