Icon Cache seems to be not working in Windows 7

    Ok. And Windows Defender + Windows Firewall is already enough?

    Or I should also disable Windows Defender if I use Avast! just like what MSE did?

    Yeah, but since Avast! has already an anti-spyware feature (right?), do I need to disable Windows Defender as well to avoid conflict?

    Yes, windows defender is a dedicated anty-spyware , but sometimes it is said that it is not very efficient, as Windows Defender Offline or Microsoft Security Essentials are.

    I would say that you dont disable it. Avast will not come with a performance clash with Windows Defender at all, as their target areas are different.

    What I am really eager to know that if changing your AV program fixes the issue for you.

    I have it disabled, but I have Malwarebytes and Superantispyware real time protection as well. Arc is right (again ) Avast will not conflict with Defender. A Guy

    Oh ok. So I keep Windows Denfer and Avast! ENABLED.

    And yes, I just changed to Avast! and it did fix my issues as well as the same issue that is present on over all my computer (10 of them).
