    Which did you do?

Did you Clean Reinstall following the Best Practices in the tutorial, especially re: Drivers?

If so then it's likely a hardware problem. I would write Hiren's Boot Disk to a flash stick so you can use it's bootable memtest and your HD maker's diagnostics Extended scan, stress test your CPU: Hiren's BootCD From USB Flash Drive (Pen Drive) » www.hiren.info
    Hiren’s BootCD 15.1
I did a clean install of Windows 7. Deleted all of the crapware and hp stuff. Thanks for the suggestion.

There are differences when Reinstalling WIn7 from XP in how drivers are handled. The Best Practices based on thousands we've helped with here are in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 and would be worth doing over if it wasn't handled this way.

I understand why you may want to test the hardware first, though.

    Keep us posted.

I had Windows vista preinstalled and I just deleted the partition. Can I do it with a SD stick?

If it will write it to the stick using Steps 1 and 2 from Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Otherwise use a DVD or 4gb flash stick.

    Hey Greg

I cannot get the flash stick to boot Hiren's BootCD. When I change my boot method, it loads but then it says, "File not found" or "Inconsistent..." I followed the steps.

This app can write either Hirens and the comparable Ultimate Boot CD to stick best: Easily Boot Ultimate Boot CD (UBCD) from a USB flash drive | USB Pen Drive Linux

    ^^ Thank you!

OK, so I ran memtest on both rams one at a time. The first one I let go for 8 passes and the second one I let go for 18 passes overnight. They both passed. Funny thing is though, when I use my computer with each stick, it is very laggy. So I am still going to replace the memory when I can.

I need to do a furmark test. When I try to, it says something about Vertex Shader.

    Hi Lvishere

The system will be laggy... you are trying to run your system on 1 gb ram.... You dont need replace teh RAM... you need to add more... i think you have 2 more slots available...

Did u run furmark.... or stopped as soon as you saw the vertex shader..... You can still run it.... thats just a warning...

Try and run it and let us know how it goes.

    Hi :)

Yeah, but not as laggy as it was. I have 2 slots 2x 1gbs for each. I will likely up grade to 2x2gbs.

Furmark does nothing. I let it run over night and when I woke up nothing was there.
