    Well the cheapest i can get 1gig of ddr400 ram is 62 dollars and thats really expensive so i can only afford 1 gig.
    DDR memory can be expensive now, because it isn't in high demand or supply. I don't know if this is against the rules, but I have some high performance DDR400 memory I am looking to sell or trade. If you post your motherboard, I'll find out if anything I have will work for you.

    And yes, you'll see a HUGE difference going from 512 MB to anything! I still have to support some laptops at work running XP with 1 GB of system memory, and they are painful to use.

    Yea but the problem is the payment. I dont have paypal and me and my parents dont have a credit card. I live in south africa which makes it hard for me to buy something from someone who is in america or in the uk.

    I can imagine then, that what I consider to be high-priced RAM here in the states, would cost even more by the time you'd be able to buy it.

    Ken;

    It is a Chaintech 7NIF2 MB with three DDR memory slots. In the USA, DDR is about $30 per GB, whereas DDR2 can be had for half that.
