Extremely slim Windows 7 for virtual machine: lower CPU usage
I am running a licensed and legal Windows 7 installation in Virtualbox to run Dragon Naturally Speaking. I have plenty of RAM, but CPU contention is a problem. On the host OS there is a particularly CPU-intensive application, and in the Windows 7 guest Dragon NS is CPU-intensive as well. I would therefore like to disable all unnecessary Windows services to lower CPU requirements. This machine is not connected to the internet and is used for nothing other than running Dragon NS. I do not browse the web, office, etc. and therefore I have no qualms about disabling Windows update and other services.
Which services can be terminated in this case? Thank you.
